It's a myth that you need a higher horsepower for a bigger door. If the door is properly balanced a 1/2 horsepower will work fine. if your door is heavy you could get the larger horsepower or have the springs adjusted by a garage door repair person.

 These days you can go to a big box and pick out an opener and carry it with. Online purchases can be shipped quickly sometimes.

1 1/4 HP Belt drive: This is a smooth operating opener with genital takeoff and landing. The 1 1/4 HP also comes with a lot of options.
